Teen Center/ College Tour
Teen Center programing operates at Franklin – Wright’s main campus holding meetings and workshops twice a week after school hours for youth 13 – 18 years old. The program is designed to increase high school graduation rates, promote enhanced social competencies, teach vocational training and reduce youth violence. The program facilitates life-skills development, academic support, community activism and offers culturally based field trips as well as nutritious meals and snacks. This 10 month series culminates with a select group of middle and high school students designing a week long national college tour of institutions of higher learning located across the United States. During these informative visits the teens explore college campus, curriculum and career opportunities with the opportunity to meet admissions staff, financial aid advisors, professors and most importantly, active students. To date Franklin – Wright has a 100% success rate of college entry with many Success Academy participants being granted on-site admission.
